Marble pillars, subtle lighting, a sushi bar and live jazz. Warm smiles on hundreds of faces from every corner of Denver's Jewish community, baked brie and imported wines.
What better environment could there be for the annual Wine and Cheese fundraising event of The Jewish Experience? As friends found each other and introduced acquaintances from other circles, the warmth and the smiles grew. Surely the peak of the evening was the comedy of Marc Weiner.
After everyone found a place to sit down, all eyes were on the stage and smiles turned to belly laughs time and again as he described the antics and foibles of a barely bar-mitzvahed Jew testing the waters of an orthodox Friday night service and a traditional Shabbat dinner. The evening was capped off with delectable desserts and more giggles as jokes were repeated and similar experiences were shared. The fun, the camaraderie, and the diversity were truly reflective of the many facets of The Jewish Experience. |
